Occupational Therapy

Your Daily Life, Done Your Way

Helping you get back to the tasks that make life feel normal and worth living.

At Delton Health Care, our occupational therapists look at the full picture of your day. Getting dressed in the morning. Making breakfast. Moving around your home safely. Feeling confident enough to leave the house on your own terms. These are not small things. They are the moments that define what independence actually looks and feels like, and we are here to help you hold onto them.

We provide comprehensive, person-centred occupational therapy services for people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are living with a disability, recovering from illness or injury, or finding that everyday tasks are becoming more difficult with age, our OTs work with you to find practical solutions that fit your life, not a generic template.

  • Daily living assessments and practical skills development
  • Home environment assessments and modification recommendations
  • Assistive technology and equipment prescription
  • Cognitive and sensory assessments
  • Collaborative care planning with families, carers, and support teams
  • NDIS and aged care funding accepted

Why Choose Delton Healthcare for Occupational Therapy?

A Broader Approach to Independence

Our OTs look beyond the immediate task. We take time to understand your environment, your routines, the things that matter most to you, and the specific barriers getting in the way. That full picture is what shapes a therapy plan that actually works in your real life, not just on paper.

Care Grounded in Evidence

We apply current occupational therapy research and proven assessment tools to every client we work with. Our recommendations are clinically sound and practically achievable, which means the progress you make is real and built to last.

Specialists in Daily Living

Occupational therapy sits at the intersection of health and everyday life. Our OTs are specialists in helping people build independence, confidence, and the practical skills needed to manage daily tasks on their own terms.

Flexibility That Works for You

We offer in-home and residential services with flexible scheduling to suit your routine. Our OTs carry manageable caseloads so every client gets the attention and consistency they deserve.

Our Occupational Therapy Services

Daily Living and Independence

Occupational therapists do something that no other clinician does quite the same way. They look at the whole person within the context of their daily life and work out how to make that life function better. For some clients, that means relearning how to prepare a meal after a stroke. For others, it means finding a safer way to get in and out of the shower, or building the concentration skills needed to return to work.

Our OTs are skilled at breaking down complex goals into achievable steps, tracking progress honestly, and adjusting the approach when something is not working.

  • Personal care and self-management skills
  • Meal preparation and household task training
  • Community access and transport independence
  • Cognitive strategy development for memory and attention
  • Sensory processing support for children and adults
  • Return to work and productivity assessments

A well-designed home environment can make an enormous difference to how safely and confidently someone moves through their day. Our OTs conduct thorough home assessments and make specific, evidence-based recommendations for modifications that reduce risk and support independence.

Where assistive technology can help, we assess, prescribe, and support the setup of the right equipment so it actually gets used and makes a real difference.

  • Grab rail and ramp installation recommendations
  • Bathroom and kitchen modification planning
  • Wheelchair and mobility aid prescription
  • Communication devices and adaptive equipment
  • Smart home and environmental control solutions
  • Carer and family training on equipment use

Children develop at their own pace, but when that development is delayed or disrupted, early intervention makes a significant difference. Our paediatric OTs work with children experiencing sensory processing difficulties, developmental delays, coordination challenges, and conditions such as autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy.

We use play-based, child-friendly approaches that keep sessions engaging and meaningful, working closely with families and schools to make sure the progress children make carries through into every part of their lives.

  • Sensory processing and sensory diet programs
  • Fine motor and handwriting development
  • Self-care and daily routine skill building
  • School readiness and participation support
  • Social skills and behavioural strategies
  • Parent and carer coaching and education

Independence Lives in the Details

Occupational therapists do something that no other clinician does. They look at the whole person within the context of their daily life and figure out how to make that life work better.

At Delton, we support our OTs across two key settings: residential aged care and community home care. Whether you prefer the structure of a facility or the variety of home visits, we have a role shaped around your strengths.
