Psychology
Support for the Mind. Strength for the Journey.
Psychological support that helps people understand themselves, manage challenges, and move forward. At Delton Health Care, our psychologists provide evidence-based therapeutic support for people experiencing mental health difficulties, emotional challenges, or complex behavioural needs. We take a practical, person-centred approach that is built on trust, clinical rigour, and a genuine commitment to helping people make changes that actually last.
Mental health is health. The way people feel on the inside shapes how they sleep, how they connect with others, how they manage daily tasks, and how they see the future. When that is suffering, it affects almost everything else. We are here to help people build the understanding, tools, and resilience to navigate whatever they are facing.
We support NDIS participants and individuals in the community who are ready to invest in their mental health and overall wellbeing.
- Individual therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment difficulties
- NDIS behaviour support assessment and strategy development
- Carer and family consultation to strengthen the whole support network
- Telehealth options where clinically appropriate
- Evidence-based approaches matched to each individual
- NDIS and community funding accepted
Why Choose Delton Healthcare for Psychology?
Therapy That Goes Beyond the Surface
Our psychologists take time to understand the full context of a person's experience before building a treatment approach. We address root causes, not just symptoms, so the changes clients make actually stick.
A Range of Evidence-Based Approaches
We draw on a broad toolkit of therapeutic methods including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma-informed care, and more. The approach is always matched to the individual.
NDIS Behaviour Support Expertise
Our psychologists have experience working within NDIS behaviour support frameworks, helping participants and their support teams understand behaviour, reduce restrictive practices, and build positive strategies.
Accessible and Flexible Delivery
We offer face-to-face sessions in the home and community settings as well as telehealth options where appropriate. Mental health support should be accessible regardless of location or circumstance.
Our Psychology Services
Individual Therapy
Life brings challenges that can become genuinely overwhelming. Anxiety that makes it hard to leave the house. Depression that strips the colour out of everything. Grief that does not seem to ease. Trauma that keeps surfacing in unexpected ways. These are not signs of weakness. They are signs that something needs attention and support.
Our psychologists provide a space where clients feel genuinely heard and safe enough to do the work that actually changes things. Sessions are structured, purposeful, and adapted as the client progresses.
- Anxiety disorders including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorder
- Depression and mood disorders
- Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder
- Grief and loss support
- Adjustment difficulties and life transitions
- Relationship and interpersonal challenges
- Self-esteem and identity work
NDIS Behaviour Support
For NDIS participants whose behaviour of concern is affecting their quality of life and the safety of those around them, skilled behaviour support is essential. Our psychologists assess the function and context of challenging behaviour and develop strategies that are grounded in evidence, respectful of the person, and practical for support workers and families to implement.
We work within the NDIS behaviour support framework and are experienced in developing behaviour support plans that meet registration requirements while genuinely serving the needs of the participant.
- Functional behaviour assessments
- Positive behaviour support plan development
- Restrictive practice authorisation and reduction planning
- Support worker and family training and coaching
- Regular review and monitoring of behaviour support plans
Paediatric and Adolescent Psychology
Children and young people face their own set of psychological challenges, and they deserve support that is designed with their developmental stage in mind. Our psychologists work with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, school refusal, trauma, autism-related difficulties, and the mental health impacts of chronic illness or disability.
We use approaches that are engaging and appropriate for younger clients, and we involve parents and carers throughout the process to make sure the work carries through into daily life at home and school.
- Anxiety and school refusal support
- Emotional regulation and behavioural difficulties
- Autism spectrum disorder and neurodevelopmental support
- Childhood trauma and attachment difficulties
- Adolescent identity and wellbeing
- Parent coaching and family support
Carer and Family Support
Supporting someone with a disability, chronic illness, or mental health condition takes a toll that is often underestimated. Carer stress, burnout, grief, and relationship strain are real and deserve direct attention.
Our psychologists offer consultation and support to carers and families who are navigating these pressures, helping them sustain their own wellbeing so they can continue to support the people they love.
- Carer stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue support
- Grief and adjustment support for families following a diagnosis
- Relationship strain and communication challenges within families
- Supporting carers to set boundaries and maintain their own health
- Family sessions to strengthen understanding and shared strategies
- Coordination with the broader Delton allied health team where needed
